It operates in the license-exempt 5.8 GHz frequency band to provide enterprises and ISPs with superior network capacity and interference protection without the burden of licensing fees. The RapidLink 54 PtMP network is based on the most advanced 802.11a Atheros core design and offers increased receiver sensitivity and transmit/receive performance enhancements. You will discover up to an eight-fold increase in throughput over todays standard IEEE 802.11b (Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz) technology used in the majority of existing networks without a significant increase in cost. RapidLink 54 PtMP can deliver up to 26 Mbps of effective TCP/IP throughput in standard mode, while proprietary protocol enhancements and broad antenna options assure effective and robust transmission ranges of up to 15 miles.
